Does Jeff Ashton's Refusal To Debate Opponent Aramis Ayala Show Fear of The Black Vote?

During Jeff Ashton 2012 campaign he made promises to the Black community to be fair and honest. After his election, State Attorney Jeff Ashton not only turned his back on the Black community, but actively worked against the very people that he swore to serve. And now, he is unwilling to even debate his opponent in a public forum. Can this community really allow Jeff Ashton to retain his role as State Attorney?  NO!  The answer is NO!

Jeff Ashton has time and again received pleas from the Black population for justice but time and

again the State Attorney has ignored those pleas. His handling of high profile cases as they relate to the Black community proves his total lack of regard.

He continues to disrespect of the Black community by not even acknowledging his Black opponent, Aramis Ayala, whom actually worked in his office for a while.

Here are two social media comments that addresses the issue.

Natalie Jackson:
ATTENTION FB FRIENDS: THIS DESERVES OUR ATTENTION!!
(Please spread the word about Aramis Ayala's campaign. We can't let this type of disenfranchisement by the status quo go without our attention).
HUH??? Aramis Ayala has asked for a debate but Jeff Ashton has refused? So Jeff Ashton who debated the previous White male State Attorney, during his 2012 campaign, when he was running for office refuses to debate Aramis Ayala because his camp says "the community hasn't asked for it"?

Aramis Ayala is poised to be the FIRST WOMAN and the FIRST BLACK State Attorney in Orlando if she win AND his camp has the nerve to speak for the "community" which is majority Black and Hispanic by saying "the community has not asked for it"! WHAT VOTER DOESN'T WANT TO HEAR FROM THE CANDIDATES?

The paternalistic gall!! Besides her being qualified and the best person for the job, this is yet another reason I am voting for Aramis Ayala. I am tired of status quo old white men thinking they know what's best for me or my community WITHOUT EVEN ASKING OUR INPUT!!

Really...I'll ask again....WHAT INFORMED VOTER DOESN'T WANT TO HEAR FROM THE CANDIDATES? WHAT COMMUNITY ORIENTED CANDIDATE DOESN'T WANT TO SPEAK TO THE COMMUNITY AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY? GTHOOHWTBS....SMH.

Camara Williams:
Politics 101, don't debate your opponent (if you are the incumbent) because you don't want the public to see you on equal ground. No disrespect to Tiger Bay Club and League of Women Voters (both are wonderful organizations, and I am a paid LWV member). But FAMU College of Law, would be an excellent place for a debate. To devalue the venue and the candidate by saying the public hasn't called for a debate. Is terrible.

And let's just talk plainly, a minority population who is highly affected by the outcome of the State Attorney race, would want to attend this race, ESPECIALLY at an HBCU Lawschool. VOTE Aramis Donell Ayala August 30th 2016.

SN: If the other campaign wants to debate at FAMU...all they gotta do is ask me-and they shall receive.
