DR. Alzo J. Reddick, Sr. was born in Alturas, Florida on November 15, 1937. His family moved to Orlando in 1944. He has been married to Elouise Williams of Orlando since 1961. He has two daughters, a son and several grandchildren.
He is a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. Dr. Alzo Reddrick's interest in politics began in the 4th grade at Holden Street Elementary School when his teacher, Violet Brown, encourage him to run for President of his class.

in Orlando, Reddrick taught at Phyllis Wheatley High School and Winter Park High School. In 1971, he joined the staff of Rollins College as an administrator at Valencia Community College.

Reddick is currently the Director of Defense Transition Service at the University of Central Florida. - As the Director of defense Transition Services, which coordinates the Soldiers to Scholars program, Dr Reddrick is both the recruiter and a major proponent of utilizing former members of the military to address the critical teaching and nursing shortages. The program has received recognition from the Florida Board of Regents.

Alzo J. Reddrick, Sr. was a member of the Florida House of Representative from 1982-2000. He was the first African American from Orlando area elected since Reconstruction. Reddick had the distinction of having passed two constitutional amendments,
a.) one for historic preservation and the other for
b.) single member districting and is the author of the legislation for the
c.) Juneteenth Observation in the sate of Florida. Juneteenth is the unofficial date that the slaves heard they were free.

Dr. Reddrick graduated from Jones High School in 1956.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Paul Quinn University in 1960, a Master of Education degree from Florida A&M University in 1971 and a Doctorate of Education from Nova University in 1977.

Throughout his career, Reddrick has been consistent and deliberate in his support of and participation in programs that are :
1.) Designed to improve education and
2.) Economic opportunities for the citizens of his community.

Currently he serves as:
President of the Guardian Care Nursing Home Association (Orlando's 1st and only
African American Owned and operated nursing home),

During his Tenure the Guardian Care has achieved Top level Accreditations that have made Guardian Care uniquely well suited above and beyond Many, Many other Skilled nursing Facilities.

Dr. Reddick also serves on the Board of Directors for the Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida,
And he serves on the Blue Ribbon Panel on Education, for Orange County, Florida School District:

He serves on the Board of Black Business Capital Financing Corporation; and was a former President of the Black Faulty and staff Association at UCF, was named
Outstanding Senior Volunteer for Orange County 2002-03, and a former Board Member for the Orange County Arts and Cultural Affairs Advisory Council.
