CORINTHIANS: CAUTION, STICKY TOPIC AHEAD!

I want to share with you I Corinthians 12:7-11. Verse 7-But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. Verse 8- For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit. Verse 9-To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit. Verse 10-To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: Verse 11-But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

Most have read these scriptures many, many times. Most of my FaceBook friends might already know this, but for those who don’t this is important. For those who do, this is how you can hopefully explain to people and help them to understand. What am I trying to expound to you? That as Christians, we can operate ALL of the NINE manifestations listed in the above versus.

First a simple English lesson…
If I said to you, “John gave David twelve cookies, and he ate them all.” Who would you assume ate all the cookies, John or David? You would say David, right? Why? Because the noun cookies, tie into the last pronoun used, David. You wouldn’t argue with this, you wouldn’t even question it, would you?

Now the sticky part for some of us, In verse 7, it says the manifestation of the Spirit is given to EVERY man to profit, WITH ALL! Verse 8 “For to one is given…” Pay close attention here. To one what or who? Most people immediately say, to one man! Hold on now. WHO ate the cookies? It’s the same logic and principle. The noun “one” ties back to the last noun used. WHAT is the last noun used? Is it man or profit? If it were man, then it would say to one man… But the last noun IS NOT man is it? It is PROFIT! So if we take our simple English lesson and apply it here, what is God telling us?

For to one PROFIT! In other words, one profit of the manifestation is the Word of Wisdom. Another profit is Word of Knowledge… Let’s go down to verse 11 and clear the rest of this section up… Dividing to EVERY man SEVERALLY as HE WILLS. Now KJV capitalizes the H in he, erroneously. Simple English lesson time: Last noun used? MAN…next pronoun used? The next pronoun used is he. So, using our newly acquired faith in our ability to operate Word of Knowledge, along with the simple English lesson, the manifestations are divided to EVERY MAN severally as to HE, the MAN wills?

As YOU will, you will manifest. 95% of Christians now believe they can speak in tongues! Why? That wasn’t separated out as just one of the manifestation God MIGHT give you. It is right in there with the rest of them. So, if you have believed to speak in tongues, you can also believe to do the other EIGHT as well. If you have not believed to speak in tongues, YOU CAN, if you’re a child of God!

That’s what I wanted to share, and I pray that those of you who know this will take this word to other Christians, and those of you who have never heard this before, will read and pray for wisdom and the ability to walk in ALL the power God has lovingly given you!
