Calling It A Day

Black Jesus painted by Ethiopian Christians in Africa by Pastor Joe Flores
Hey, my dear brother and my dear sister, as the pace slows and you prepare to call it a day, there are some of us who are reflecting back over the day. There are some of us who are reflecting back over the years. And there may be some of us who are reflecting back over the decades.

Maybe you are the one who has had enough victories to smile all night long and give God the praise. Maybe you are the one who has had enough love to lull yourself to sleep with the comfort where with

you have been comforted. Maybe there's a loving wife or husband laying by your side and happy children in the adjoining room and you can pray politely, "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep.

And if that is your testimony tonight God bless you. Every day with Jesus, is sweeter than the day before.

However, on the off chance that like me you've been through enough adversity that if you wanted to cry all night long, you probably could. On the off chance, that like me, you've seen better days and these days seem so lack luster compared to the glitzy, shiny, crowded, friend-filled, star studded life of days gone by.

On the off chance, that like me, you've been on the mountain top and survived the valley of the shadow of death. On the off chance, that like me, you have killed your share of Goliath's. On the off chance, that like me, you have endured the heat of the fiery furnace.

On the off chance that you like me, you misplaced your trust and found yourself blinded, chained and surrounded by the enemy. And on the very off chance that like me, you once walked on water, but found yourself sinking with your hand stretched out to Jesus.

I want to take a minute to remind you of who you still are.

You are still the apple of God's eye.
You are still a general in the army of the Lord of host.
You are still a priest of the royal priesthood.
You are still an Ambassador of the body of Christ.
You are still a skilled, equipped and gifted warrior of intercession.
You are still the property of God.
You are still the executor of His vengeance.
You are still the called and appointed carrier of His truth.
You are still God's prophecy in motion.
You are still God's purpose in action.
You are still His overcoming witness, dwelling in the weakness of flesh.
You are still powerful in God.

You, yes you, with all of your scars, wounds, hurts, problems, failures, weights and regrets are still the anointed of God, delivered by God for eternal purposes that exceed your need to know all things.

As you prepare to call this a day, lift up your head oh ye gates, lift up your head ye everlasting doors, for the King of glory has already come in.
He is still seated on the throne of your life. So if you are calling this a day, Good night and God bless you- Pastor Joe Flores
