Are You Ready For Your Personal Revolution?

PastorJoeToday begins the recording of "The Revolution".
When I began working as a program director of three radio stations, I decided to document the experience; a written record of the daily happenings at the radio stations of the challenges, lessons, successes, failures that came with turning around less-than-stellar management teams.

Unfortunately, I quickly discovered that the root of the issue was a systemic, leadership based, malignant incompetency that would require the complete re-education of the core team. If no such action was taken, it would have caused irreparable damage and embarrassment to the ownership group.

This is The Revolution. My own personal revolution that will set the tone for my destiny. My experience in intense team related business situations has led me to write three books that are all near completion. Through all of the struggles I’ve learned that the choices we make in any given moment can change things in ways we never thought possible. I continue to discover previously unknown things about myself, revealed in the relationships that are drawn to me by God’s Hand. It is through our relationships with one another, personal & business, where life teaches us what we’re made of.

There was a time when I questioned my ability to navigate the rough terrain of other peoples’ emotions too often reaching places of obstinacy that threatened to deconstruct the progress that had been made. When there was no place left to go in the world, I remembered my connection to The Lord and fell to my knees. Seeing past the illusions of personal opinions I was able to find the truth beneath the surface. That God’s Love prevails over All Things and He is with me always. I am never alone in my journey and when I knock, the door is opened and the Truth is revealed.

The depths of despair I reached battling with my own purpose and mission in life was a struggle I fought hard to overcome. In the darkest of times, through faith, we find the Light of Salvation. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and I am grateful in every moment for the Grace of God that pulled me from the darkness, stronger and more able to fulfill His work on earth.

This writing is the result of thoughts and events leading up to "The Revolution". I trust that this will be a blessing you and that you will learn from my experiences as I record them over the next 90 days.

Here are 3 Pre-Revolution Principles that I have discovered that you must operate by if you want to have your own Revolution and turn your life towards the path of fulfillment.

Rule #1: Clarify and Purify Your Motive.

If you are doing something where you call ministry to compete with, compare to or in any way keep up with the big dogs, check the root from which that motive sprang. It may need deeper life prayer, godly counsel or it may need to be uprooted and a new seed planted that is truly God. If the root is bad, just imagine what the fruit will be. [Amen!]

Rule #2: Clarify Your Vision.

A clear vision can be stated in a single sentence without people saying what does that mean? If you can't, it’s probably not a clear enough vision.

And here's the "biggy" for today.

Rule #3: Do What You Can Do To Make the Revolution Happen!

While you are doing what you can do, keep in mind, that all you can do, is all you can do. If you've had staff, family or friends to help you in the past, it becomes easy to wait on that same level or quality of help pre-revolution. Forget that! While you are waiting on them to catch your vision and be a part of your dream, they are joining other peoples stuff, building others people visions and helping other people succeed. People do this because they want a ready made platform for their gifting and although they might not say this, they prefer an expedited recognition of their talent without the corresponding labor that is normally required when you are building something.

Digging ministry out of the ground and being used by God to build something that lasts requires hard work, faithfulness, intentional effort and leadership accountability.

TRUTH TIME: when you want a revolution, you've got to do what you can do and lose the expectation that everybody around you is going to get it and come to your rescue. They are not. They might, and I say again, "might" come whole-heartedly to help you if they hear God. They might come whole-heartedly help, if you've offered the right inducements, but short of either of those two things happening, forget it. Start doing what you can do and trust the Lord to send you worthy, committed laborers. True reflections of your committed and faithful heart.

There was a song we all learned back nursery school. It went like this, "Row, row, row, your boat gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream. Sometimes you have to "Row your boat". You don't have to be in a rush or mad about it, just row it "gently down the stream". Don't let other peoples’ lack of enthusiasm about your vision or dream effect your joy; merrily, merrily, merrily; life is but a dream.

The enemy wants you to forget that what God called you to do is YOUR DREAM. Nobody is going to get into your dream until your dream's is out of your head. Until it comes spoken with power through your mouth and is manifesting through your actions on some level. I can not expect people to catch my vision if my vision is not clearly articulated (spoken) or obviously visible in some form. This is just the preliminary mental and spiritual preparation for THE REVOLUTION!
