#BHMUpgrade Day 152 of Supporting a Black Business brings me to Infinite Zion Farms in Downtown Orlando's Historic Parramore Community (off W. South Street and Hicks Ave). Owned and operated by Raymond Warthen, #InfiniteZionFarms is an urban farmer collective providing access to organic produce in local Communities and teaching others about farming. In business for 4 year, Infinite Zion Farms provides a source of inexpensive fresh organic fruits and vegetables for Black neighborhoods and families. Starting out in an abandoned South Apopka garden, they grew into a farming market where local residents could see where their produce comes from, and could pick & purchase on the spot. Infinite Zion Farms has since grown to have 3 urban gardens with the main one in the heart of Parramore. They grow Collard Greens, Mustard Greens, potatoes, kale, celery, onions, tomatoes, garlic, organic juices, organic/specialty teas, corn, bananas, grapes and more (according to the seasons). They also teach gardening, sustainability means & methods utilizing organic – chemical free nutrients. A Riviera Beach, FL native, Owner Ray Warthen uses culturally enriching farming techniques derived from his late Father whom was a third generation Farmer from Lake City, FL area. Their farming program is a way to engage communities in lessons about basic agriculture and environment protection. Infinite Zion Farms' goal is to establish urban farms throughout Central Florida and be an affordable source of organic produce and education to our community at large. You can support them by Volunteering on Saturdays, Buying produce, Touring the garden or donating (Cash app $InfiniteZionFarms).
