#BHMUpgrade Day 219 of Supporting a Black Business brings me to Knowledge For Living in Downtown Orlando's Parramore Community. Owned by Hatim and Aminah Hamidullah, #KnowledgeForLiving aims to provide quality education to underprivileged communities. Operating for 17 years, they work to inspire future generations by developing personal skills, civic sense, and leadership potential to serve society in a better way. Knowing that education is the backbone of any successful nation, they focus on various learning programs and scholarships. Located in the heart of Parramore, Knowledge for Living helps children and families through courses ranging from advanced reading to gardening skills, as more paramountly teaching Financially literacy to children and Entrepreneurship to adults. They strive to help girls, boys, men and women find their role in life, not limited to higher text book education, but inclusive of vocational skills and culinarily arts. With Co-Owner Aminah being a Tampa and FAMU & FSU Alum, and Husband Hatim being a Dallas, TX Native, the couple combined resources to start a Educational Center to help uplift the historic Parramore community. In the owners words "We want to help our people in our community so they too can make an impact in the overall scheme of life ... Come to table with open Mind to learn and it'll lead to a better tomorrow". Knowledge for Living is open Monday to Saturday with hours Mon -Thurs 10 am to 5 pm, Fri - Sat 10 am to 1 pm; also available for appointments outside of regular hours. They are located at 430 S.
