Owned and managed by Shawnc'e Smith-Levy bka Sunni, #MamaSunnis is a mobile food vendor with uniquely flavorable dishes for both vegan eaters and meat consumers. In business for 2 years, their fresh Caribbean blended seasoning preparation makes for scrumptious lunch and dinner entrees. Mama Sunni's menu items include Jerk chicken and ribs, Fried fish, Stir fry, Plantains, Fried cauliflower, Mac n cheese, curry cabbage and more. A native of Jacksonville, NC and believer in unplanned blessings, Chef Sunni started out as a baked goods vendor at Paramore Farmers Market and sought to expand, purchasing a trailer for baking culpcskes only to end up using it fo hot meals. In the community, Chef Sunni ensures that the homeless are are fed and provides food to at youth groups on occasion. The name "Mama Sunni" is derived from the owner passing out cupcakes to youth at an African Centered School 5 years ago and getting the reply from from Children "Thank You Mama Sunni"; striving to give every meal a Mama's touch. They are Open Friday and Saturday from 12 pm to 8 pm, with options of ordering onsite, via phone and online - they are also available to cater and bend at different locations.
