Posh Rock Tennis Foundation

#BHMUpgrade Day 124 of Supporting a Black Business brings me to Central Florida Tennis Management Associates (CFTMA) and Posh Rock Tennis in East Orlando. Owned and operated by Brothers Albert Richards and John Richards, #CFTMA is a complete tennis facility management company that offers full service capabilities, currently managing Fort Gatlin Tennis Center. Playing tennis for over 30 years, the Richards Brothers run Fort Gatlin facilities like a well oiled machine: managing trainings, providing access for recreational play, coordinating grass roots tennis programs, planning tournaments for adults & youth (men, women and mixed) and hosting special events & social gathering. Owners John & Albert have played tennis at a high level since the age of 14, initially in International Tennis Federation (ITF) competing throughout the entire Caribbean, Central & South America and China. Their passion for the sport led them to also found Posh Rock Prt Orlando Tennis , a certified National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) Program part of a nation-wide network of community tennis organizations founded by the late great Arthur Ashe (1969) seeking to develop the character of young people through tennis and education. In business over 10 years, #PoshRockTennis provides comprehensive tennis programming that promote physical, educational, and life skills necessary to prepare and empower youth for success. Their goals are to increase the participation of underser ved youth in the game of tennis, to help develop their character, provide educational enrichment opportunities, provide the ability to make healthy living choices and improve life skills. They offer a variety of on-court programming and educational and life-skill components designed to enhance a player's overall development. These educational components include from mentoring, health & nutrition through Hebni Nutrition Consultants, Inc., financial literacy and more. Posh Rock services different elementary schools, the YMCA, Frontline Outreach, Boys & Girls Clubs and county recreation centers. They also extend outreach to work with Special Olympics Florida and Autism Academy for Education & Development. Both Charlotte Amalie, US Virgin Islands natives and HBCU Alumni, Albert Richards finishing at Hampton Univ and John at Florida A&M, they let no resources go to waste, donating aged tennis balls to senior & rehab centers, and used tennis nets to schools or youth programs.
