#BHMUpgrade Day 114 of Supporting a Black Business brings me to Boomerangs BBQ in West Orlando's Ivey Lane Community (Columbia St & Florence Ave, next to Absolute Dry Cleaners). Owned and operated by Chef Jerry Polite aka "Da Da", #Boomerangs is a neighborhood eatery specializing in tantalizingly good Barbecue. With nearly 15 years in business, Chef Da Da Polite and staff offer exquisitely grilled ribs (sandwiches, half & whole slabs), chicken, burgers and pulled pork seasoned in soulful fashion; as well as finely prepared fried fish, shrimp and chicken wings. For side dishes they offer baked beans, fried okra, potato salad, Mac & cheese and French fries. An Orlando Ivey Lane Malibu Groves native, Jerry Polite worked a variety of Chef jobs from Universal's Original Hard Rock to NBA City to NASCAR Cafe, before establishing his own brand and signature recipe for what's now become some of the Best rated BBQ in the City.
