Dickie's Cafe

#BHMUpgrade Day 262 of Supporting a Black Business brings me to Dickie's Cafe in Sanford, FL in historic Midway Community. Owned and managed by husband and wife team of Edward Howard and Latisha Jarrells Howard, #DickiesCafe is a mobile eatery with soulfully delicious food. In business for just over 2 years, they have savory southern dishes prepared with a down home blend of seasoning & spices. Their menu items include: chicken, ribs, soul food, fried wings, fried fish, custom dickie burger, greens, mac & cheese, dirty rice, potato salad, banana pudding, specialty key lime cake, Homemade fruit juice and signature barbecue sauce. Accepting call in orders and orders in person, Dickie's is available for event vending, food truck display and catering. Both Sanford natives, owners Edward and Latisha have always had a passion for cooking. Chef Edward learned to cook initially from Mother. Utilizing his skills and passion they initially Started cooking from home building up a regular following. In 2018 Chef Edward grew tired of playing it safe and "took a leap of living his dream" and started Dickies Cafe with his wife. In his own words "You never know your potential nor what you can do until you take a chance and TRY". Dickie's Cafe is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 11:30 am to 6 pm.
