Blacks Are Not 'Merry' With The Orange County DEC

Orange County Democratic Party Logoby Lawrence A. Robinson

Clinton Salters lost the race for Chairman of Orange County Democratic Party to Carlos Smith. Carlos Smith won by a large margin and his supporters are very happy. Supporters for Clinton Salters, obviously are not as happy, but following Clinton's lead, most said they will continue their work within the DEC.

The DEC has about 20 active Black members. When questioning the Black members, most think that the process was not fair to Clinton Salters, who is Black. Most Blacks whom I have spoken with and Blacks who have commented on some social media outlets are mildly outraged.

Clinton Salters released a comment which he congratulatedClintonSalter Carlos Smith and then other comment where he tries to heal the DEC an form a unified front so that the group can move forward.

Dr. Tim Adams posted the following comment in answer to Mr. Salters statement.  Dr. Adams comments captures the feeling of many of the Black politically savvy folk who are aware of the OCDEC's activities of the last few weeks.

Tim Adams:
Thank you, Brother Salters For that Tremendously Gracious Statement. While I applaud your candid, Conciliatory Posture there are Those who Harbored a 'We Must Remain in Control' attitude that I Do Not Accept, nor Condone.

The Donkey Group (Democratic Party) needs more Inclusion in Central Florida. That will NOT Occur with the type of attitudes that ignore and misuse the Very Voters that kept us in the Winning Columns for these Many Years, Since the Infamous White - Only Donkey as late as the 1950's in Central Florida. Primaries.

What Happened in the Past Two Weeks in Orange County, Florida, Delayed what is Known as Reconciliation until a Later Date. The Massive efforts that the Inner Circle Invested in, to keep the Top of Our organization White in Color and Appearance will come back to Haunt us as the Civil Rights Hero Minister Malcolm Little Once Stated.
