The Absentee Eatonville Councilman Skips His Own State of the Town Address

Apparently, if the fine people of Eatonville want to hear from their councilman,Alvin Moore, about his plans for their Town, the best place for them to look for him is any place other than Eatonville.

This past weekend in Eatonville the residents of the oldest Black establishment in the country gathered to hear about the state of their town. The main topic of discussion was the future of the Hungerford School Property.

and preserve the history of their town, Alvin Moore, who ran for re-election in January 2014 to return to Eatonville's Council while simultaneously running for Orange County Commission, was across town telling a group of folks how he plans to destroy the school and approve selling 99 acres of land to a developer for a pitiful $3 million dollars.

Over the past month or so, Alvin Moore has made appearances at dinner parties, campaign fundraisers for his pals, Orange County DEC Functions, Circle of Friends get togethers, the Apopka Mayoral Forum, Orange County State of the County Address, Orange County Economic Summit, and anything where a photo op is remotely possible. But, for his own Town's Annual State of the Town Address, Alvin Moore was again persona-non-grata. Alvin Moore will say that he was a featured speaker at Florida Senator Geraldine Thompson's Trailblazer Breakfast. But, based on the basic PowerPoint presentation he gave, the other council member in attendance at the event could have easily stepped in and read from the slides. Also, if the Trailblazer Breakfast was so important to his Town of Eatonville, why wasn't Mayor Mount there to speak on behalf of the Town? Does anyone else see the problem here?

Orange County District 2 voters need to take heed, Alvin Moore is showing you exactly what he is planning to do if he gets on the Orange County Commission. He will use his position to rub elbows with the elites and neglect the needs of his constituents. Because according to his website Alvin Moore had big plans; he is looking for a federal post in congress as a "Nation Builder." He really has no interest in serving his small Eatonville community, which he has referred to has the minor leagues, or in serving Orange County, which he calls the next step. It is worth noting that Greg Jackson, was the only Orange County Commission District 2 candidate present at the Eatonville State of the Town Address and word is that he had been on the ground working and serving the community as a candidate since entering the race. Greg Jackson, who is a former Assistant Attorney General for the State of Florida, downplays the fact that he has represented tens of thousands of citizens and that he has hosted near 30 community events in Eatonville, Apopka, Ocoee, Pine Hills, Lockhart, and College Park in just the last year alone. District 2 needs to pay close attention to Greg Jackson.
