I got my first 'Voter's Registration Card' when I was 18. That was my present to myself that year. With the help of Mrs. Patricia Pinesett, Also took along two bus loads of my classmates to get theirs too.

made to make it possible for me to have my say via my vote. These people left their homes to confront injustice and racism face to face to help me be recognized as first, a human being and second, a CITIZEN OF AMERICA and should have the same basic civil rights as any other citizen.
One of which is the right to vote.They all did this knowing there was a possibility that they would not be returning home. Some of them didn't. Was I to let their deaths to be in vain? Just shrug my shoulders and say,"They knew what they were getting into"?
NO, it was my obligation to cast my vote whenever there was an election. There was a reason people were willing to put their lives on the line to secure this right for me. I owed it to them to become an active voter. Research the issues on the ballot as well as the candidates. Weigh the pros and the cons and then cast my vote for what I feel is in my best interest. If you did not vote in this election tell me why not? I want to know.
