Naomi Joy A New Supporter to Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker
Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker for 11years have graced its musical and dance magical journey with different stars each year. Beverly Page is the writer, executive producer, entrepreneur of the performance and in Naomi Joy she has found a hidden gem.
This year there will be 75 performers on the stage, and this does not include the Jones High students and bands. “As an artist, I always genuinely feel supported by the community as it is my honor to serve and provide music entertainment for so many people and events. The community is also equally excited to see the involvement from our students and the amazing collaboration with Jones High School, and Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker.” says musical professor, and Saxophonist –Naomi Joy Nelson.
Naomi Joy is a Jones High School graduate, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Florida A&M University, and is currently in her 15th year of teaching music in Orange County Public Schools. Naomi has appeared on national television to include The Wonderful World of Disney Magical Holiday Celebration, radio, Afro TV, local and national Television Networks. She has performed in Jazz Festivals such as the Orange County Jazz in the Park, Apopka International Jazz Festival, private and corporate events.
Mrs. Page says it has been a pleasure working with Naomi Joy and the students at Jones High School. “If you have never experienced the magic of Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker, 2023 is a year you don’t want to miss, and bring your entire family. Naomi Joy is a perfectionist, and get ready for some surprises. There are two different bands, jazz and alumni and there will be singing with a male chorus. Get your tickets early, and be mesmerized.”
The cast in 2023 is phenomenal with some cast members having worked with the show before and others are new. This year two special guest artists from Knoxville, TN, Joe Stylezzz, and his 9 year-old daughter Elli Stylezzz will perform in the show. Ellie is a street dancer, who started dancing at 3 years-old. Joe first danced in the Orlando Nutcracker in 2008, and since then, he has danced around the country and the world.
