"Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker" Performers "Soldiers to Scholars Metro Kids" Invited to Tampa to Audition for America's Got Talent

SoldiersToScholars2October 11, 2014: Orlando, FL -The Orlando Community Arts, Inc., (the producers of "Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker,") was pleasantly surprised on Friday, October 10th, when a call came from the Tampa audition office of top-rated, national television series NBC's "America's Got Talent."

The purpose of the call was to invite some of the performers from this year's "Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker" production to participate in the one-day only, open audition in Tampa on November 2, 2014. What is even more exciting is that this is the only scheduled stop in Florida for this round of auditions.

Beverly Page, President & CEO, Orlando Community Arts, Inc. said she "thought it was a prank call at first." Her second reaction was "my kids from the community have been invited to audition for America's Got Talent Season 10. OMG! I am so happy for our community." This means that a group ofSoldiersToScholars local children from Orlando may be vying for their chance to win America's hearts and the $1 million prize.

The particular group of children selected to audition for this "America's Got Talent" audition are members of "Soldiers to Scholars Metro Kids" which was founded by local resident, Dr. Alzo Reddick, through his position as Director of Defense Transition Services, was able to start the UCF Soldiers to Scholars organization which assists ex-military members to work toward their college degrees in exchange for them becoming mentors and role models to at risk children.

The television series has been called a true celebration of the American Spirit , because this talent search is open to acts of all ages. The same can be said of the local production of "Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker" which encourages and inspires the youth in the Central Florida community to reach for the stars and follow their dreams through the Arts.
