I know you are probably wondering why you are receiving another email regarding the Orange County Branch election, but there were .some discrepancies with the recent elections. In order to ensure there is a fair and equal election the NAACP National Office will be conducting a re-election Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 9am-5pm.
As the winner, (Shaniqua "Shan" Rose) of the first Presidential election for NAACP Orange County Branch 5120B, in 2022, the vote was thrown out for many different reasons. The first election was not accepted even though Shaniqua Rose won.
There is something fundamentally wrong when the executive committee decides who is going to win the election. As a 35 year old candidate for president, it is time for a change. I have diligently been working with voter education sessions, candidate forums, voter registration drives, and so much more.
As a member who has served in many capacities, including Branch Secretary, Next Gen Cohort Lead & graduate, political action committee member, Florida State delegate, to advance the work of the NAACP. Now more than ever we must elect leadership who will boldly stand up for the community and seek sustainable results for change. I plan to continue to focus on the six game changers:
• Economic Stability
• Education
• Health
• Public safety and criminal justice
• Voting rights and political action
• Expand youth and young adult engagement
But more importantly, my goal is to ask for your support to be elected Orange County Branch President to bring organization where there has been confusion. Please vote for Shaniqua Rose on Saturday, March 18, 2023 between 9am and 5pm.
