The ballot once determined elections, but now-a-days candidates try to criminalize their opponents.
Suffering from a whopping defeat on last Election Day with only 39.2 percent of the vote, district 5 candidate Juan Lynum is trying to criminalize his opponent Regina Hill.
Hill, who opposed the Failed Legacy of the Lynums, represents the voters who voted for change.
Now facing a daunting run-off election this coming May 6th, the Lynum scion has resorted to the scheme
of trying to criminalize his opponent. Lynum cried, "I would not be surprised if Regina Hill were arrested." Has he been given some assurance to make such a reckless comment?
What is he talking about? Chief Assistant State Attorney Richard Wallsh confirmed, "Commissioner Daisy Lynum spoke with the State Attorney." Outgoing city Commissioner Daisy Lynum, the candidate's mother, has appealed to the State Attorney to save her son from doom.
The complaint is that Regina Hill got more absentee ballots than her son. Thus, accusing Regina Hill of absentee-ballot fraud. And, get this, they allege that the Hill campaign mislead voters by saying they were representatives of President Barack Obama's campaign.
Did I miss something? Was President Obama on the ballot? Is he running for some office in Orlando? Are the Lynums serious? This is an all time low. After 16 years in office, their Legacy is done to trying to criminalize a candidate for getting votes.
Meantime, the real investigation is targeting candidate Juan Lynum, himself. FDLE officers raided the clerk's office and took documents related to Juan Lynum's residence requirement. The Orlando Sentinel reported - Even as voters were going to the polls Tuesday, the FDLE was collecting records at City Hall about Lynum's residency status. City clerk Brenner turned over the 89 pages of documents pertaining to candidate Lynum.
In a telltale response, young Lynum responded, "As far as I know, FDLE does not investigate false allegations that would only amount to an ethics complaint." Ethics complaint? Did some one tell young Lynum, "Hey if we get caught it is only an ethics violation. No one cares about ethics. Why should you? No big deal. No jail time." Obviously mama Daisy doesn't care or she should would not have allowed her son to get involved in this messy dilemma.
The City Charter requires candidates to have lived in the district for at least a year prior to qualifying for office. Lynum claims a residency in the house he shares with his mother, Daisy Lynum. He also claims a homestead exemption on a house in Sumter County he shares with his father. And, he has a house in Tampa, which he shares with his wife and young daughter.
This guy has more homes than Mitt Romney. Most people in district 5 find it hard to keep one roof over their family's head. And this guy is claiming he lives in three.
A word to young Mr. Lynum, protect your self at all times and come out swinging. If you are going to win, you must do it in the ring. The referee and your mama's friends can't help you. The people will decide.
Regina Hill is not going to be arrested. You must meet her in the ring this coming May 6th and the voters will decide, again.
