You can absolutely know when he is coming back! This is long and in 3 parts, but if you take the time to go through it, it will bless you!
I have studied the subject of the 7 year period between the signing of the peace agreement between Israel, and the Anti-Christ, through to the battle of Armageddon. I’m sharing this NOT to debate. I’m not trying to change anyone’s mind, but I think if I am right, then at least some folks will have read this and understand what will be taking place.
I was taught that pretty much the moment the peace treaty is signed, Christ will return for his church. To clarify, it’s called PRE-tribulation theory. Well, I still believe in the pre-trib theory, I just don’t believe the tribulation is going to start until 3.5 years into the 7 year period. We WILL know when Christ is going to come (That day shall not over take you as a thief in the night):
I Thessalonians 5:2 “But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.”
This is what happens with most people, “See, the Lord says, we don’t need to know when Jesus will return, because THAT day is going to overtake us like a thief in the night!” BUT, is that what it truly says? NO! It says, “But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.” WHY??? Vs. 4 Because WE ARE NOT in darkness that that day should over take us as a thief. Why aren’t we in darkness? Because God is clear as a bell as to when Jesus will return.
II Peter 3:8-10 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
