Last Monday evening, Nov. 18th, the Orange County DEC members were expected to choose a new chairman to replace current chairman Scott Randolph. There was some confusion and the vote was rescheduled. Clinton Salter is a candidate for the chairman position. Here is an open letter to the Orange County DEC members from candidate Clinton Salters.

Monday night demonstrated, that errors can be just that. However, the ability of our current leadership to deal with a precarious nuance, and invalidated a procedural application, which inadvertently resulted in voiding my formal letter of intent.
I hope that our membership can learn that unfortunate mishaps, don't always have to end badly. I am also confidant that we can make the appropriate accommodation for this scenario by giving this Executive Board and the Chair the appropriate consideration to reschedule our election. There are no Big "I's" or little "you's" and a mishap is just that, an unfortunate situation. If the shoe was on the other foot I'm sure you'd want the same, unbiased consideration.
The plans for the emergence of a clearly dominant role' for the Democratic Party is only a few weeks away, yet I hope none of your personal agitation was too unsettling. At least we can now proceed into the 2014 season confidant, that there will be ambitious goals and achievement milestones for Orange County's DEC.

I have said it before and I must reiterate that I am aware of our Party's accomplishments and in 2014 we will prove wrong all those that have considered our coalition ineffective or ' far too this or that' to contend in the upcoming midterms. We will become more intent that success in 2014 is not only possible, but accepting that the hard work required to be successful will cement the base for future candidacies.
Our Party, as we envision it, can build and grow this powerful and diverse base. Thanks to all, and members of the Executive, and let's show gratitude for the seats that were won, during a very difficult 2010 'backlash' political climate, here in Florida which affected our success across the board.
