I am FURIOUS right now. After watching Channel 9's latest character attack against me, I feel provoked to speak out about the sheer misrepresentation of facts and malicious attempt to discredit my accomplishments for the sake of one reporter's desperate vendetta against the clerk's office.

buy time while going through the short sale of my then marital home. HALLELUYAH I made it because I am ecstatic that I am no longer single, sitting in a house that was completely underwater. I call that a prudent financial business tool. Why is that news?
While I don't wear my past indiscretion on my chest as a badge of honor, those who know me will attest that I've never hidden my past mistake. This incident, that has suddenly become newsworthy happened almost 20 years ago! I can only condemn myself for so long for my past indiscretions. I was an undergrad student in 1996 when I wrongfully cashed those checks for someone while working at a bank. A split second decision followed me from April 1996 to November 2000, but I refuse to allow it to haunt my accomplishments today. I paid the full restitution for both me and the other long list of co-conspirators (of which I didn't know any of them personally to "snitch" on) that shared my docket. Nothing is said about my civic and community service! Nothing regarding my years served as a non-profit executive raising thousands of dollars for great causes. Nothing about my matriculation through the Florida Bar, which has one of the most prudent background screening processes in the region. Nothing about my countless hours devoted to my clients at Legal Services. Nothing about me, my work ethic, my integrity or the countless number of young women that I have mentored because of my story which are all POST the incident. Trust me I am flawed... (we all are); but I stand firm that my story is one of endurance, merit and FAITH!

I was vetted for the job that I have and that is traditional and customary for newly developed positions in both private and public sectors. I was not given anything. My resume and my record of PROVEN service clearly speak for themselves. I completed a FULL hiring process, within the established agency hiring rules. Further, I was not unemployed sitting by the phone waiting for anyone to create a job for me! I was employed at a thriving law firm prior to being recommended and applying for the Self Help Center Manager position. I accepted the job because I felt it would make another great opportunity to help my community.
The Self Help Center is designed to assist those who would like to represent themselves in court. I am beside myself that this storyline is being fabricated into something more. I am infuriated that I am being published as an incompetent, irresponsible convict! Please move on Channel 9, because the mischaracterization of me and the misrepresentation of the facts of both my personal life and my background are egregious and unwarranted.
GET OVER IT; REDEMPTION IS POSSIBLE; I WORK HARD AND THAT CANNOT BE OVERLOOKED; I AM A LAW-ABIDING OFFICER OF THE COURT; MY? STORY IS NOT NEW…BUT THE MISREPRESENTATIONS ARE!!!
